knowing oleg i bet the smoke size depends on the size of the leak feeding it, whats burning, and the weight of the oil being burned and a few other factors

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. Bump and specular as well, as they change the surface details depending on the light angle. It took me a bit of study of these shots to confirm whether the planes have normal/bump maps- I'm still not entirely sure for most of them. They definitely appear to have some nice spec maps already. And the modeling really is fantastic.

Can't wait to see it all moving...

Bloody gorgeous shots Oleg!!
Thank you.

For one of the next updates could you do some shots just above a thick cloud layer. In most flight simulations, even the new ones like Black Shark and ROF, the cloud layer looks horrible and flat from above. No details no shadows and it simply takes away from the beauty of flying just above the clouds.

Thank you.

This is what i mean:

Been following this for a while, but today had to sign on to say WOW! I'm drooling all over!

Oleg, could we have just a teeny tiny sample video? With the fire and smoke perhaps?

Looking really good and the growing ammount of information about the capabilities of the engine is begining to lift the veil on what a step change SoW is going to be. Very excited by the visual scale of this sim too.

Smoke cloud is too dense in shot_20100628_134750.jpg.

Should be dispersing and not opaque in the right hand half of the picture.

Thumbs down

Whoa! Flak looks right on! Reminds me of B-17II (but better)!

Agree with others that damage smoke looks too thick, and maybe too long lasting, but also realize this is WIP.

All in all, great!

Shite! I meant for that to be a "thumbs up", sorry!

Excellent smoke! Much better than flat smoke in the IL-2
