My best friend was killed while flying Apaches in Iraq. As Taps were being played at the funeral service, his squadron flew a missing man formation over the cemetary. That's one airshow I will never forget.

Now if they could only make a proper movie about Malta, like they did with The Battle of Britain, they'd be set with some of the best air combat campaigns made into movies. They'd probably CGI the hell out of it, but if they did it right, it might work?

For me it has to be this. Malcolm Mcdowell at the end all alone back at base always gets me

Default Missing man formation

My most unforgettable flying formation was the missing man formation flown for my son with F-15 Eagles in the spring of 04.He was killed outside Bazrha in Iraq. The formation flew as we proceeded to the cemetery.

I am so sorry for your loss Ratman. God bless him and all the boys from any nation that put themselves in harms way that we may be safe and free.

Sorry for your loss Ratman. Far too many Americans believe that war is something that only happens to other people thousands of miles away, but we know different. My buddy Pat died in a helicopter crash near Mosul, also in 2004. I would dearly love to fly with him again. 2004 was a bad year.
