Hi,
Been reading your posts. Hope you're having fun. In answer to your question, don't know tbh, I've never used it. Try switching it off in the set up panel, and looking out of the window. Seriously if you want to progress rapidly, the ideal sequence is learn all you can about your ride and then how to fly it properly like they did in RL, before you try shooting anything down. Then make use of quick mission builder by flying 1v1 with a contemporary opponent. Set him to ace, set difficulty to realistic, no icons, no map, no padlock. He will come at you head on and from then you're on your own and it'll get interesting. You will have to try and track him at all times as well as fly your plane. It will be hard work for you and it will be scary but you will progress quickly, the aim is to survive first, kill him second. When you can cope with him, try 2 aces, when you can cope with 4 you're getting there. Good luck and welcome to the point of no return. |

I understand what you are saying. I have always relied on the Pan in other sims and managed ok. The padlock can be quite disorientating so probably best to stick with looking out the cockpit and using the pan to track.

I've been using the IL-2 Padlock for 8+ years and have never experienced nor even heard about a bug like you described. My guess is that it is something wrong on your end.
...and no, Padlock does not default to 'friendly' if the enemy are visible but out of 'Padlock Range'. Aviar
