Not this year. Don't really care anymore in all honesty. Too disinterested to explain.

For me, I really don't care about the date when BoB/SoW may release, because Daidalos Team has been doing their interesting and free IL2 updates for me(I also believe it has far-reaching implications for the future/release of BoB/SoW),
and I can come back to this forum anytime if I want to get some new informaion on the coming BoB. Seeing the new screenshots and videos, reading the news and comments, it gives me a feel like that the BoB/SoW is growing up with me. I would cite, "Enjoy the whole process far more than the proceeds."
The most important thing I think is that, dear BOSS and all his staff can live well, working in their best form and have a good mood everyday.
Take care of yourself, all the team.

Merits of Daidalos team are out of question. I think the problem for me in IL-2 is graphics. Awesome simulator that kept me in front of the screen for years, now i take into account that for a while, until SOW is released, image quality brought me to look for something else.

To be precise: i'm not eye candy fan. Btw graphic importance can't be put aside all the times. In particular considering IL2 wasn't choosen at his release for graphic innovations as well...

I don't think there has been any title I would have been so eager to get my hands on. And after the five or so years waiting I've hyped my self to such extremes that I'm afraid whatever they'll deliver might be a disappointment.

Bollocks! It'll be fantastic!

Odd then that you would still be interested enough to post how disinterested you are

We'll see, the summer leading up to the launch should be decisive enough. The small community updates we have now is more a generous offer from Oleg than any official marketing strategy.
Would be nice to see it released this year , he is doing some really astonishing work, however it is after all a flight sim and that's where the engine, focus is centered around.

It's all about narrowing it down, he can't make the most advanced game ever made.. that being a flight sim , sea sim , infantry sim , car sim , tank sim all in one is just unrealistic to believe both Engine-wise,
Gameplay wise, Work-wise, Fun-Wise? Bug-Wise? etc it's insane to even comprehend how much work that would mean if even attempted seriously... and would it work out gameplay wise.. probably not...

Just cause the engine supports people walking around / driving doesn't mean it's gonna be equivalent to an FPS like Red Orchestra or Armed Assault, it's not.
Red Orchestra 2 Heroes of Stalingrad will be released sometime this Fall as well and should compensate BOB really well with it's infantry combat, can't wait for that either.

All in all some folks seem to have insane expectations, for a flight-sim sure that's why we are all here and it's justified, but beyond that don't expect anything amazing.. Oleg isn't a magician with unlimited resources.

Question My take on the target release date

When Oleg said SOW hoped to be released for the Battle of Britain anniversary, I automatically assumed he was talking about Battle of Britain day, which is September 15th (the make or break day during the battle, which was the Luftwaffes largest assault upon London itself. It was countered by 11 Groups 'Big Wings' of multiple squadrons, which had a severe effect upon Luftwaffe morale).

This date is also quite close to October, which makes it more likely as a target release date for Oleg.

I personally can't wait for it!!

BobTuck.
