I've got to know JOED pretty well and he isn't the kind of guy to make up bullshit. I would be in exactly the same boat as him when it came to defining the borders of those countries. As much as I am well aware of what went on there I would be hard pushed to so specific. I have a very good friend who so served there with the British army and to be honest he rarely speaks of it due to the horror he witnessed first hand. I know for a fact that JOED did serve there as I have had long conversations with him on the subject. I also believe him to be a decent bloke, end of. I therefore have absolutely no reason to question whether he is telling the truth as I honestly believe he is. To be fair, a lot of the US and Canadian units were stationed in Croatia. Its quiet easy for people to get that area of the world a bit wrong what with the shifting borders due to the conflict, and the fact that even many Europeans couldn't pick out Sarajevo on a map let alone say it properly.

....not being patronising but you have to study the history of the region to fully understand the politics and attitiudes......its extremely complex and not as black and white as you may think......

Steady mate, this conversation is getting out of hand. How did this end up having pops at a whole nation. Every country has its problems (dont get me started on our problems in UK!) but comments like that not really called for. I do believe this whole thing stemmed from a conversation about rocket use against aircraft in the game. Its all gone pear shaped from both sides so I suggest this thread is locked (again!) before it gets any worse.
I used to look forward to coming to this forum but the bad vibes are making it more like a trip to the dentist for a tooth extraction at the moment

look at these photos Its the only Medal i have left as it was Issued after I left the service . I threw my others in the harbour here in a fit of rage . After returning home from Adriatic to find my Family and my home gone . And our Military was only concerned with if I would be able to Redeploy back to Yugo in Jan 97 . So I put my release in Nov 96 thats when they went for a swim .

Sadley the UN will not issue replacement medals no matter what circumstances they are lost in .
