You'll have to do without those units until later in the game, when the main castle is going to supply them in great quantities, after you finish some of the main quests.

I recommend getting some royal snakes, archmages and cannoneers if you can find them (IIRC I always found some on the Isles). Also inquisitors are great to help you resurrect and generate rage.

I've beaten the Kraken with human warriors, priests, furious goblins and other ogre units.

another question: in the game's version I play, the number of spells in my book seems to be unlimited, because the indicating number shows 104/12 spells. in fact, I have about 100 spells. do you think this is a bug?

Numer of spells is unlimitted but this number is about scrolls. Scrolls are limited

I made a mistake: the suspect fact is that I've got hundred scrolls, as the number 104/12 shows.

My version is 1.7 and I can't understand why my paladin is able to keep unlimited scrolls and spells while the Guide Book shows that the numer is limited.

You can take scrols from the ground in unlimiited numbers, but you cant buy any if you exceeded limit.

thanks, I tought it was a bug. so the limit is about the scrolls I can buy.
In order to be sure of this I'll try to buy some.

P.S.: Tomorrow in my country, Italy, King's bounty - armored princess is going to be on store translated in Italian language. I'll buy it immediatly and for any questions about Amelie's adventure I'll ask on this forum.
