Yep, as nearmiss said:
Most of us are enjoying the latest TD patches Or there are other ways to enjoy the game. Dunno if I can really write it here. Still.... |

March...God the years is almost over (lol)...
But seriously...Oleg said something about more video updates (or was it final map textures) in August (updates), so I'm guessing that a July release is "out". |

Oleg has said that the lions share of the work is in the engine, which is in fine tuning stages. It appears that the planes are mostly done, which would logically be most of the rest of the work. Missions, buildings and game play issues are the last thing to do, which is what is going on now.
On top of all that Oleg as much as admitted that the Game HAS to be released this year. Given smooth sailing (no major problems or cock ups) then a 2010 release is not so hard to believe. That's my $.02 worth any way, and it don't mean a thing. |

Maddox Games doesn't work like other software companies. Their style is kinda idiosynchratic and looks more like "work on a puzzle group style" than normal software developing. They're only bringing the pieces together very late in the process so that there won't be any flashy in-game vids for quite some time.

I think it was rumored that the release would happen before October 2010.
If this still is the case remaind to be seen, but it can't be far away now. |

Somewhere here in forum he stated something about "before end of summer 2010". That's 20th of september then.

IIRC it was stated that by October 2010 many, many people would be playing SoW already. I guess we waited so long, 6 or 8 months won't make the difference.

It seems to me like the game is pretty much up and running, and they are finetuning all the features.
But then again; there are no dedicated site, no publisher, no advertizing. One should think that these activities should be present by now in order to spread the word among a wider audience than the frustrated/happy (choose what fits) fellows that lurk around this board. Oleg probably needs a huge sale of copies to fund 5-6 years of development. I don't remember how this was done when IL-2 was released, I for myself saw an ad in Flypast magazine that my father had bought. If it had not been for that one, I would probably never have started playing IL-2 at all, because I've never seen any advertisement for it elsewhere, and none of my friends are playing flightsims. But with the level of detail Oleg obviously is putting into this game, I'm starting to worry for a release within christmas 2010. Skarphol Last edited by Skarphol; 03-12-2010 at 01:38 PM. |

Quote:
what oleg said (late 2009 ?) is that by the anniversary of battle of britain in 2010 he expected that many 1000's of people would already be playing it he also stated around the same period in late 2009 that because of financial pressures and previous delays (old release date was 2007), he had no choice but releasing it in 2010 about this "yet another thread with people whining about a specific release date" : with the recent 6 months of regular updates, and the way oleg produces his sims (each element worked on by a different group, and putting the finished elements together into a working game at the final stage), i believe he is very much on track for it being finished by september 2010 (which is the latest possible month for a specific BoB anniversary date) keep in mind oleg himself still doesnt know a specific date for release either, and with him indicating they are creating a mark-II version of the "integrated game" in the last week or 2, i suspect he will soon have a better idea himself.
