In fact, the slowdown version looks more natural.
Also this is not emerg. bailout - rather a 'hey, I just returned from mission' ejection.

From the winky I think you got the same impression I did form Casper's comment.

IOW, He'd not have mentioned 'Also this is not emerg. bailout - rather a 'hey, I just returned from mission' ejection' if there are not other pilot animations showing a pilot bailing/exiting the craft.
