Watch out for Me-163 Komets..... the B-17 has little chance of survival as this is a specialised B-17 killer.

The same goes for the Bf-109 G-6, Bf-109 K4 and Bf-110 C-4..... all specifically adept at bomber killing. The Bf-109 K-4 has frontal armour just for this purpose.

Best method for killing B-17s...... climb above, wing over and drop down from above where they can't shoot back and aim at the wings.

Sadly though they're a little to flimsy and can be shot down with a quick accurate burst. Plus there aren't many who can actually fly the things properly, most tend to just whistle about between ground and 41,000ft which yes in real life is up where the B17 flew but as in the game the bomb aim only works upto 14,000ft means there's little or no point to it. As I've mentioned earlier in the thread there's only a few pilots I consider a risk when I take it out and that's because they know what they're doing and do it quick.

I was playing strike last night and there were 2 b17s on the opposite team. I picked the 109 g6 and as it's not as manuverable I couldn't do my normal belly or roof shot. I started shooting at the wing tip and it blew straight off imeditaly. Tried this on the next one and same thing, almost instant kill. Racked up 10 b17 kils in space of a few minutes doing this. Each time exactly the same wing destruction. I wouldn't expect this to work against someone like gilly or branko though because it relies on you getting nice and close behind the b17. That's not going to happen with an ace opponent!

Speak to Mr McQ about the G6, he has the above, wing drop, dive and rip the wing off method down to a tee. That's the move that always tells me someones good but yeah yor right them damn cannons are lethal!!! That said dk you've always managed in most things you fly to be pretty effective and devastating!!!
*this is gonna hurt* !!!!!
