Typhoon was not a good plane for dogfight. it was only a ground attack plane like P47 and P51

That was in 1942, not 1942 late even 1943, the weakness of typhoon's tail had been overcome by 1943 or so .

Typhoon/Tempest is RAF's "fw190", not suitable for dogfight either, but the speed/firepower is owesome.

In western field, the best low alt racer usually belongs to RAF.

1944,9lb-11lbs Tempest, Mustang III/IV(25lbs P51B/C/D) (9lbs Tempest was ealier than Dora,K4)
1945,13lbs Tempest


Drag and energy tactics are not Luftwaffe's "Patent". RAF pilot's also have owesome climb/speed/dive/firepower.
