i had this same problem, it's a bug, this strange effect disappeared after few checkpoints, i don't remember but maybe it was gone with newest patch

Edit: well in this thread someone said it was from last auto save of poison to first auto save of heat: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=7526
