This is directed towards the USSR team,

As of January 9th we will be enemies, I will not be responsible for mobilizing you guys into playing. I expect you guys to work as a team and depend on each other. I will still be answering questions about the tournament and editing your stats. However, dont expect me to keep informing you guys of what is happening via PSN. All the information you guys and the UK team members will need is going to be posted on the first 3 posts of this thread (first page). I have referred to this posts as Bulletin Boards. I hope you guys understand and if you dont, then, imagine having to contact 30 players each week to let them know what to do and what is happening. Thanks.

Also, to all players. This tournament was created for all of us to have fun. You guys filled the spots and made this tournament possible. Please try your best to participate. If I notice that not much is happenning on the first 2 weeks, or so, of this tournament, then, I will simplify it and make it easier on me. This tournament required hours of thinking and it will require more hours to keep it functioning smoothly. I do every thing by hand and with my cheap Paint program. I am happy to do this and excited because in my mind it all looks excellent. I have intergrated ideas from the hypperlobby servers, Rome: Total War, and Battlefield 2. This tournament is not just something I came out with after the Holidays. I will be glad to do all the work if you guys participate as I expect you to. If interest is not demonstrated, then, I will not cancel the tournament but I will significantly simplify it. You will see what I mean when I mention complexity after I post the rules and description this coming Tuesday. I leave the decision in your hands.

Based on player styles and languages I think something like this would work better for USSR:

1) philabong, varcus, olife, panz1t
2) mage, reaper, stingersix, trueshotcaller
3) kozz, macademic, he111, fangface
4) mirgervin, trk, drozz, filthyprick

though if it has no effect on who actually plays in a given match, it wouldn't matter except for training.

edal have you notified all team USSR members, if not then I will have to round them up

After thinking about it, I expect the site admins probably won't create usergroupd threads or forums because
1) it's a fair bit of work to create and maintain
2) they'd probably have to make trk an admin

so I have gone ahead and created a new website for team USSR. If the team isn't too confused maybe it will work.

Kozzmo, I sent a simple PSN message to all players that teams are ready and to check the forum but I think it is better that you round them up as you said.

Yes, squadrons dont really affect how players must fly or organize, you guys (USSR) figure squadrons out. The squadrons that I posted would have been my choice for fair balanced squadrons but, again, I wont interfere

That said I cant register on the Team USSR site, gets caught in a loop on the "agree to terms" page.

Any way looking forward to this, as long as I can get online at the same time as the rest of the squadron.

And apologies to Edal for not being able to train in the flight school yet, time difference is against us I feel.

My choice for USSR Squadrons are a recommendation only but USSR team players will have the decision to change these or keep them. Kozzmo selected USSR team and he knows how you guys fly and get along better. So the decision is for the USSR team.

* You have until January 8th to decide (please name your flight groups and if possible create an insignia or something for them.

Apparently the squadrons are only for score tabulation, not for actual fighting, meaning your squadron isn't the "team" for matches.

Since you can't register, I'll create an account with your name and pm you a default pass, then you can alter the pass at leisure. <edit: done. Check your pm's.>

stlngerslx there is no decision for the squadrons as yet... if we all register on shtabvvsov.getphpbb.com then we can figure it out or vote on it... post your squadron ideas there and I'll set up a poll when there's enough choices

but they aren't who you'll be fighting with, so it's not that important what the squadrons are.


edal: there is no such psn id as filthyprick, what's the correct PSN ID?
