Most of the best spells have already been stated, but I thought I'd add a couple of other ones that have so far been ignored.
![]() Calm Rage - Very important in boss fights to keep your Mana high since you aren't allowed to use the Dragon. Awaken Dragon - Great spell for obvious reasons. I often use it to open two Treasure Chests in a round. Mass Battle Cry - A surprisingly useful spell for keeping losses down against enemy high-intellect Heroes. On the last turn, cast this, do your Resurrections, and finish off his units before the opponent gets to cast. It won't be used too often, but it's a good spell to have in your arsenal nonetheless. |

Altough it's not a spell, I use both beholders, and if enemy has level one or two units, you can always lull it to sleep and do your resurrecting and medal required castings.

i would say that driads would be better choice, but evil beholders not bad also

But if you dont kite maps you get no dryads in the early game, and they have 1 empty round before the reactivation of the skill.

You can call Dryads with 'Call of the Wind', so that isn't completely true. Also, phantom drayds to keep an enemy under indefinitely... and it works in infinite numbers of stacks of low level units. Beholders are only better when you have a single, or maybe two stacks of level 1 or 2 units.
