for me
1° Place: STORM OF WAR 2° place: SWAT 5 (is not in the list) they vote startrek, crappy arcade. I hate startrek starwars. I never see a real space simulator combat in my life.

Fantastic ! Our SoW is in 3rd position behind a couple of space games, which will be 100% forgotten 6 months later ... not even material for the 5 € bins ... that's the difference, if SoW will be as good as Il2, it will last for years to come. The other games will last 6 months max.

Are you satisfied now, Tanner, that you brought us back to earth???
Do you really think anybody, besides you, wanted to read that??? Of course there are more people interested in games than in simulation-games. Also for shure there are more people interested in quantity than quality.

That depends on what you mean by 'quality', doesn't it? Sure, they might LOOK better, but that's probably it. Starcraft particularly, what a hilariously overrated game. It's almost as overrated as World of Warcraft. Blizzard games are based around creating addiction, and Bioware like producing games where you're either the most evil person in the world or a saint, which is a gimmick that has become quite overused. I have to qualify that by mentioning that nevertheless I enjoyed Mass Effect, but I probably won't play it through again. Anyway, basically I find it especially amusing that you're using voice acting pedigree or the presence of Hollywood-style production values to decide on the 'quality' of a game, especially considering the steaming piles that were Oblivion and Assassin's Creed respectively.

Comparing quality btw a RTS, a 3rd person shooter and a WWII flight sim is silly in itself too. No one is delusional voting for SOW. The track record of the developer delivering one of the greatest flight sims of all time is reason enough for SOW to be a voting option. You also fail considering another sim that came out right after IL2 with far more money and resources completely failed to deliver a sim anywhere close to IL2's quality. Also, the developers behind Starcraft II and Mass Effect 2 couldn't deliver a sim as good as the nearly 10 year old IL2 if they decided to develop one. They don't have the knowledge and resources needed to make an accurate WWII simulator. They could make a WWII GAME, but not a simulator that could compete with the detail, accuracy, and realism that Maddox games will achieve. It's already proven by other developers trying to compete with far more money and resources and failing big time. |

I'll probably play a few of the games on this list including ME2 and Deus Ex 3, but I don't think I've anticipated a game as much as SOW, waiting so long for this thing to be done.
