Think my PS3 is slowly dying on me right now... strangely BoP is pretty much the only game it can read...
Think I,m going to format the thing (and lose all planes I guess): I once had a corrupted data msg but eject and reset made it work again... so maybe there's some major "hidden" files in the hard drive somewhere - could this be the laser? even tho it still reads BoP just fine?
Option B (if its the laser) is I send the ps3 to sony and i have to pull of this competiton (not a big loss, wasnt goin to make real far anyway) cause playin this game is fun n all but, u kno... a little change is always fun

any suggestion/warnings b4 I reset the PS3?

call sony first and see what they suggest.

Back up the system to an external HDD first.

Ah man this sucks I hope you can get it sorted out before you loose all your data..

One thing for sure you need to back up to a external HDD.

Little off topic but I just got a 640gb HDD for my ps3 today, killer deal too $85.00

Yes back it up, i made the mistake of not doing so once.

How old is your ps3, would be the main factor... unless it's seen a lot of heavy use, it would be unusual for its laser to be wearing out already. I have a cecha-01 series 60gb, and it still works perfect.
