Throttle on Hotazs X

I've been an IL-2 supporter/fan since 2002 when it was first released and have bought all the add-on's etc since then.
I decided to try the "console version" when I saw the beautiful graphics etc - this I did (trying the demo out at a mate's home) and realised that unless one could get a PS#-compatible joystick, it just wasn't on - flying an aircraft with the gamepad controller just wasn't for me! Anyway, I researched the matter, found out that one could get such a joystick and bought the game, the joystick (Thrustmaster HOTAS) and PS3 ... only to find out that the joystick has this colossal deadzone on the throttle control!!!

An appeal to the developers - I understand that this is a "game" (not a joystick) issue - if it is, please, please fix this problem.
