I've been a long-time lurker on these boards, and like the rest of us, have suffered silenty and tried to like this game -- mostly on account of my love of WWII aviation and associated emotional investment. I have to say something now ...

While I appreciate Anton's much needed update, I am very offended and put-off by his tone. I want to know if anybody else feels similarly.

"Stop blame us, that's unfair - we are the ones, who suffered most, because we are spending our own money to make community happy, and not only getting a dime from that, but also recieving negative feedback."

So, we are supposed to feel sorry for you and your team when it was your decision to release a game that shouldn't have even escaped Q/A? I'm not talking about the performance tweaks to match aircraft performance to historical reality; I'm talking about the game-breaking deadzone issues that make flying with a stick an exercise in frustration and masochism.

I -- for the life of me -- cannot understand how a game that ADVERTISED flight stick support could have come out of the development cycle in this state. What rank amateurism.

Save the tears about your damn money ... and all the "negative feedback" you've gotten. You deserve it -- not for the delay in the update but for the state of the product at release.

The only reasons people still play this game is:

1) It is the only WWII simulator on the market. Heroes over Europe doesn't count.

2) There are people out there -- like myself -- who love aviation and WWII planes enough to put up with the fatal flaws in execution in an otherwise visually stunning game.

I tried to like this game ... for well over a flipping month. But there are just too many good games out now and coming out in the next few months for anybody to put themselves through this garbage -- especially while waiting for a patch to put the game in release condition.

Wait till MW2 comes out, Anton, and see how many people are bothering you about this game ...

You guys really dropped the ball on this one -- won the race outright but fell flat on your face right in front of the finish line.

Sorry to vent, but that "our own money" crap-- combined with the fact that we got DLC (which I bought) before the game-fixing update -- set me off.

Heck of a first post ... I'm sorry.

good for you dreadnaught!!

I totally agree and could not explain it any better. They gotta understand $49.99 for game, $25 for Thrustmaster 3in1 programable pad, $30 for a saitek AV8R-3, and now $85 for a saitek x52 (cause there was mention about it being "the stick" for ps3 when updated). Thats like almost $200 i spent to try and get this game playable! so dont cry to me about money, when its profitable still for you guys!

so now you will understand why such harshness.

ps: add $10 to that because I am so fed up that i purchased 1946 from Steam for my PC just to play again and to get use out of my stick!

I hope it worth it after the update.

I do appreciate your passion dreadnaught and I do agree with most of your views but let's try to keep things in context without pissing off Anton. This game is a first and while it has flaws it certainly has done enough right to keep a lot of us playing.

I know I'll still play BOP after COD MW2 comes out because I'm a flight sim dork along with most of us here.

Im the same.

I will enjoy MW2 alot and play it religiously, but it doesnt offer you the chance to admire the english countryside from 20000ft in a hurricane so i'll be playing this every once in a while.

Just hope the online community stays strong.

Default to be clear ...

Anton:

MY tone was perhaps too aggressive and angry in the previous post. It is not my purpose to antagonize you.

You have shown great moral courage in answering to what has become an increasingly impatient and hostile audience here. You are taking a whipping for it and that is not easy, but you are doing the right thing.

Thank you for addressing the issues I brought up in my post directly.

Ok I wasn't going to say anything, but for me I could have cared less about a patch. I have been enjoying this game, and it is one of the best in my ps3 collection. I don't know about any of you but this game sure as hell beats any other flying game on consoles(heroes over europe anyone?). I for one play this game only for its sp, even though I occasionally get online every once and a while. I play this game, but its not the only game I play to pass my time. I enjoy it and a patch would be appreciated but for me its no big deal. I can wait for it. So stop all your complaints and be glad that a patch and some DLC are already coming out. You could be part of the SOCOM community, now thats a community that has been left behind by its devs.

Sorry for that.

I don't agree that the game shouldn't have even escaped QA.
The game has passed QA. It has been tested for half a year. It has passed MS final approval from first attempt, if it tells you a thing.

Update is mostly update, than patch.
It is primarily adding a lot to the game, not fixing bugs.

On X360 - it is Microsoft limitation. We can't adjust deadzones at all.
On PS3 - we've made it similair, to provide similair experience for all users.
It could be wrong decision, but it is reasonable.
We never told anyone, that deadzones will be tweakable on PS3 - so no false promises.

OK, we deserve it.
Sorry for trying to make game better after release - that's surely only our fault.
But we are going to continue this behaviour. Sorry again.

We are NOT releasing DLC or update.
We are making it.
And, we are making update on our own money for a good reason - we want to support community, to maintain their loyalty. So it is not you would owe us something, if it would be released.
But publisher is not releasing it - which makes making update useless waste of money, which upsets me.

I think some are to hard on the devs. They are not exactly a large operation. I think they are doing their best under the circumstances.

I am very disapointed with the terrible performance of the 190. Also with the UFO performance of the LA-7....but this is still the best flight game on the 360.

I am very tired of losing kills, but I have a feeling that issue will be resolved soon.

Anton, I think you need a better publisher.

Still a great game, and hey, nothing is perfect.
