I did not buy this game for mp, I bought it for the sp and the authentic ww2 plane action. Mp isn't my thing, so the online dying part isn't a big deal for me as long as we get ample sp dlc and a new patch. The online will be dead in about a month anyway with the release of codmw2. I won't be buying cod, but 14 million other people will.

+1 I agree 100%.

It seems like most people bought this game for the Single Person experience as did I. Just because people aren't playing it online doesn't mean the game is near death...

???
Sorry, can someone explain what is SO important about this patch that not having completely ruins the game?

I don't have a gold live account yet, so I haven't been online. Mainly been playing single missions, campaign, and training and I'm having a blast.

Soooo, are the issues only in MP or something?
The only obvious problems I can think of are the missing cockpits and something about correct mapping for flight sticks.

1. The P-51 and 190 have been reduced to flying school buses, this will be fixed after the patch (at least for the P-51, the 190 is questionable)
2. The huge issue with players crashing to avoid kills in MP will be fixed.

Those are the two main reasons, check out the dev's forum for more info on all that's coming in the patch.

The crash thing has happened to me a lot where I've been shot down, but not blown out of the sky, lost control of my aircraft due to the wings being shot up, then the victor didn't get the credit. Kind of a big prob, a lot of the times people might not even be crashing on purpose, but just losing control at low altitude with damage and while trying to erratically maneuver at low speed, happens to me all the time. I need to get better!

This patch should correct the flight mechanics of many planes, that are screwed up. (Right, that's what we're all whining about now, right?)

Ohhhhh of course. The P51. Completely forgot about that.

But WOW!
People kill themselves in order to avoid letting the other player get their rightful kill?
Cowardice and such unsportsmanship. But hopefully the patch'll be out by mid-December when I'll get live and finally take to the skies with other people and not the shenanigan-pulling AI.

If COD MW2 sucks as big at COD WaW does, I don't think that we really need to be that concerned.

It also has to compete with the vastly superious Operation Flashpoint and Bad Comapny 2, bearing in mind that Bad Company 1 magnafied just how much WaW really sucks.

The COD francise is now aimed at kids below the age of 16 and dumbed down so much that serious gamers steer clear of them. It all started when COD 4 arrived and has gone south ever since.

Folks still play BSM and BSP for the ariel action and these are the folks that bought BOP.

Anyone notice that the average BOP, BSM or BSP is aged between 20 and 50 years??

Anything that attracts the kids away from the grown up online games is welcome. Halo ODST helped clean up a whole lot of online games and it keeps the "Squeekers" occupied.

Everyone's always bagging on WaW, I thought it was great. Especially that mission in the Catalina

nope i know this is a 360 thread but my gripe is the following for ps3

1)need to be able to remap controls(I fly large expensive RC airplanes in mode2 so mode1 type settings on the game pad will = the loss of models and or damage and injury )
2)with the stick/hotas choices we have to select from to correct my above problem its either choose one that is rudder on/off(almost impossible to use) or another that you cant look around to see were everything is at(real prob in sim). let alone no brakes, no wing man commands etc.

just those 2 things renders my game useless in my eyes. struggled through the campaign on realistic, and that is as far as i went. its collecting dust now.
