my tactic that i found worked very well was to kep echo team alive (the team you support at the beggining)......

they will help you then from start to finish.

BEFORE going to the spot and meeting the pilots, clear out the entire village and destroy the 2 APC's that turn up (getting the bonus achievement in the process). Once everything is destroyed or killed, RV with the pilots and get them the hell out of their. You will meet some units on the way to the extraction but dont worry, a little bird will deal with them

Hmm...i may have torestart the mission but idc, i just want to extract both pilots, not just one (I like pilots, so rescueing both is a BONUS!!!!)

ok what i would do if you want to keep both pilots alive is to get to the house they are holed up in but dont enter and release the pilots get your men in a defencive position around the area take out all the forces in the village first then rescue the pilots you should have a few units in the woods to your right as you exit the village but if you kept echo alive they will attack em also give your team and the pilots the haul ass order straight away then hang back a bit and take out the troops that drop from the transport helo also if you took out the aa position before you head to the crash site you will get a little bird to help you when you do rescue the pilots

I might have to do that again, becuase I ran out of ammo in the village, I had to make it to the extraction point using nothing but my pistol and telling my guys to sprint there lol Bullets were kicking up everywhere and there's no point returning fire with the MEU lol And sadly one of the crew died in egress.

can anyone tell me why my guys wont use smoke when you give em the fall back order?there meant to,it even says they do on one of the menu screens?also why wont the apc thing you get to drive when attackin the fuel depot wont deploy its smoke?

also found a stupid bug,if you play the spec ops mission to blow the generator at the fuel depot in campagin when you die as you enter the place next time you spawn the buildings at the front of the compound arent solid so you can fire through them an so can the enemy..

The game has many bugs and glitches unfortunately and CM (codemasters) assure us they are working to fix them.... dot expect anything to soon though, you know what companies are like at getting patches out "cough cough IL2 BOP, cough cough" sorry had to clear my throat their.

Anyway..... why they dont deploy smoke when told to fall back, i have no idea, i guess they enjoy playing the role of john rambo. I think they expect you to provide smoke. And the smoke on the APC.... i cant help with that, but will check shortly and get back to you.

Had some good games last night with SleepTrgt and Mr Greezy but with insurbordination in the ranks it soon lead to a few regretable deaths.

After Sleep went to inform our families of our death in service of our country me and Greezy did mission 1 on hardcore in what can only really be called a comedy of errors resulting in my soldier being the last one alive...with a leg wound...miles from the pickup.
Oh then I rolled the jeep.

Last game of the night was a quick MP game where I got to drive an M1 and fly a littlebird raining rocket death on all who opposed me! (until I ran out of rockets, where do you rearm that thing?)
