I don't like whining.

But on the other hand, I think that a good forum moderator has to be tollerant and patient.
Each of Tree's (or anyone else's - I'm not talking about specific persons) "whining" threads had some true to be discussed within them, and moderators should allow it, as long as it's not getting "bad".

What's "bad"? Well, not the whining. Many of us are married to whining wifes and we still live with them

One of my own definitions of "bad" in a forum is the personal attack to some other member.
By attack, I do not mean the "hot" discussions. I mean simple things like "you're a faggot", "dolphin is a bastard" or put whatever else personal insult you want here.
That's where a moderator should interfere immediately, so as to not let time to the insulted member respond. Which response is justified, as long as the moderator has not interfered before.

Closing, I'd like to say that it's obvious that I agree with Mazex (and other members of this topic), but this doesn't mean that I do not agree with Feuerfalke as well!
The response we get from each membet comes from the level of their involvement in this forum, i.e. Feuerfalke is too active and thus tired of opposing same ol' shit each day. Maybe he should not be involved that much. It would do good to him

It does. I posted a lot less in the last weeks and months, because the whining really got the upper hand.

I'm glad this changed and hopefully we can soon discuss some more IL2/BoB-related topics.

What Tree did went beyond "whining"...he was just trying to stir sh*t up. In his own words he said he was "bored". In his own words he said the forum bored him, and he just wanted to "have fun". If people want that kind of behavior in their forum that is fine with me (I can go elsewhere). BUT, if people don't want that kind of behavior in their forum, I'm fine with that too...in fact I kind of prefer it.

By the very nature of being a troll, they can rarely tell where the line is...

Guys I totally understand what you're saying, but let's see this case from some other angle.

This game has made all of us addicted.
Personally, I cannot count the hundreds, maybe thousands, of hours that I've spent flying, reading, developing, moderating, admining, etc. in this game.
It's a fact that it means a lot to all of us, for these last 8-9 years of our life.
At some point, due to wrong handling from the developers, in my opinion, of the facts, people (and not only one or two, but a very big percentage) thought that they'd take a new, better "drug" soon.
Those addicted junkies (me included) made plans, bought new computers, did many things in conjuction to the new "drug", but the dealer delayed the delivery.
And kept on delaying.
Junkies could not control their selfes easily.
Others did other things, others quit the game, others were too strong and kept waiting, while others got emotionaly blocked and they turned their dissapointment in negativity.
In all these statuses we can recognize many people of the community.

But what's a fact, imho, is that we should all be tollerant and those who are strong enough to support those who have emotionaly crashed.
Let's not punish them from their addiction.
Let's support them.

PS. This doesn't mean that we can accept criminal minds. But hey, Tree (whom I don't know much, to be subjective - I have not even flown with him), doesn't seem like a criminal mind. A poor junkie, like many of us, is.

PPS. Going back to my work and my kids, the best anti-IL2 drug in the universe

In some way Tree's posts were funny, you should not take it too seriously... you need something to linger on (HFC_Dolphin are right, we are all junkies, it's not our fault...). It's because we have loved and still love so much this game.

After all without funnys thread the board would be totally boring, with many people asking only for the Shift+F1 key and how landing gears work on Ratas. Or many more spamming to advertise their squadron (worser than Tree's threads IMO)... In this way you don't create a community.

IMO

Anyway the moderators are the right to do what they want.

Iit is odd that they had continued to esteem these qualities over those of other fighters in spite of the fact that they were of only secondary importance tactically. Thus it is doubly ironic that the Spitfire’s reputation would habitually be established by reference to archaic, non-tactical criteria.

My turn now: +10!

Yes, I hate these squadron advertisements as well, though you should all know that HFC is the best squadron

And yes, it's up to the moderators to decide how they want to run a forum.

I'm starting to wonder what they have done to Tree_UK?
Maybe he has had concrete socks and is currently resting with the fishes at the bottom of Volga?
