ARMA II was announced for consoles a long time ago. It has a Q4 release date on IGN for 360 but I seriously doubt seeing that happen. More likely 2010. I hadn't seen any info on it being canceled but then I haven't heard anything on it in quite a while so that very well may be the case.

I will wait for a few more reviews from sites I trust like gametrailers before getting it although in all likeli-hood I will. The majority of reviews released so far have rated it above average to excellent . I have been waiting for a realistic military shooter for consoles in the vain of the first OFP for a long, long time. I am not happy about the gimpy multiplayer either but who knows, the gameplay may be refined and balanced enough that it still is fun on competitive multiplayer. Co-op should rock regardless.

And you came to the conclusion all by yourself that Dragon Rising is “an intricately detailed military simulation”. When it isn’t. Not even close.

If you played it, and I don’t believe for a microsecond you did, then you would know just how lacking Dragon Rising is. You would actually have a game to compare it to instead of immediately jumping to your only source of reference: Call of Duty4. The fact that you, and the other child, hilariously echo the cesspool of mewling cabbages the CM forum has become is not at all surprising. Real fans of OFP have long since departed.

Strange, as your very first reply to me was nothing more than “petty puerile name-calling” because you can’t defend the game or address the points I made about its limitations. Instead of acting like an adult and saying, “I don’t agree with you, here are some valid counter-points…” you opt for “WAAAAAAH! WAAAAAAAAH! MOROOON! YOU PLAY CALL OF DUTY! WAAAAH! WAAAAH!” and generally throw your toys out of the pram.

CM put a review embargo up until release date which only compounds their previous suspicious cancellation of the pre-release demo. I'm waiting for Eurogamer's review which will take MP into consideration as the SP campaign in Dragon Rising is very short even with co-op.

The PC post-release demo will be the real decider.
