Similar to the Stuka, the IL-2 needs air superiority to survive. There was NO armor at all for the rear gunner on the IL-2, they had horrid casualty rates.

This is why I get so frustrated that the rear gunner is invincible when im shooting it with my BF-109G6. 3 Cannon and 2MG's cant kill a rear gunner with no protection. However, I am able to get under the rear of the IL-2 and waste it with the 109. I do believe it is QUITE A BIT over statted, but there are some ways around it.

To be fair, maybe its just me, but I find the B-17 nearly invincible. I have not encountered it mutch yet, but I have 3 kills and 2 deaths against B17 with my 109.

I believe the Yaks are a bit over statted as well, but a short burst of BF-109 cannons from a distance will send it down in flames.

Really my main complaint about the game is the IL-2 itself. The rear gunner should die from a single decent hit. The Russians apparently did not care about their rear gunners, history backs up this statement.

To be fair, I think the P-51 and yes, the Spitfire are two of the most over rated planes in history. I am not disapointed with the P-51 model.

I have more complaints and compliments, but over all.....this is the best WW2 flight game on the 360 console.
