do you remember what map you were on? some of them have a bunch of targets that are very close together, so if the B-17 dropped its bombs, and most of them landed in between, but not directly on, the targets, then it is possible that he did moderate damage to all of the targets in that area, without necessarily having to blow them up. (in other words, each target had like 1 point left before it would have exploded...)

oh btw haven't i versed you on PSN before? your name seems familiar...

That's something I've been wondering about. The more altitiude you have the bigger the bombing reticule, presumably the area affected. If you get on a map like play2often mentioned, you do get more bunkers in the scope. I'd like to know if the blast damage on several bunkers is more beneficial than direct hits on a bunker. It would make sense for you to reap the benefits of flying high in a full sized bomber and carpet bombing than trying to dive bomb in one in order to get the most out of the run.

This wouldn't make a lot of sense. A bomb dropping from 100ft will do just as much damage as a bomb dropping from 10000ft. The reticule seems bigger since it stays the same, so when you're higher up it's harder to aim precisely. Another argument against this theory is that the bomb reticule doesn't change with different types of bombs, thus the size of the reticule is not related to area damage of a bomb.

I can see that splash damage could cause a massive ticket loss by hitting multiple targets, but to wipe out 90% of the tickets without destroying a single target (of which I think there were 12) seems very, well, wrong.

I can't remember what map, but there were a bunch of targets close together. There's no way he could have hit all of them in 1, 2 or even 3 drops.

If one B-17 does that it just renders the game mode pointless to play when there's one on either team. It's either a (huge) balance issue, a bug or bad design... None of which are good options.

Have people had good games against B-17s? i.e. Where it's not game over the second they reach the target(s)?

P.S: yeah I know you're name well. I guess the silver lining of the small online community grey cloud is that you get to know the true players, and know who to make sure is on your team. If I see you on the other team I pray that someone on my team knows what they're doing

You also get to know the skanky hosts (in no way directed at you, just a general bitch lol) that either host games bigger than their connection can handle (few people can handle 16 players), quit a game when they start losing, or start a game when it's unbalanced. I'm sure we've all got our own little black lists

hahahaha i kno exactly wut u mean. as a matter of fact, i was paired w/ a b-17 in strike today. it consistently did 100 ticket damage per pass. however, overall i did almost as much cumulative damage in my stuka D-3 'cause i could turn around and make more passes.

the funny part tho was that the b-17 had a higher top speed than my stuka!!!!!!
