the patch don't work !!!

I have killed Lucky James and the Kraken and everytime I am about to tell Beautiful Mirabelle I have killed them the game crashes ..everytime. i've launch the patch , but the patch don't work , and un receive the following message " Unknown error" what is the solution ?? i've got Windows vista
