I can vouch for FaceTrackNoIR's awesomeness.
It's a great alternative to those who don't want to spend a bunch on TrackIR or want to try out the whole headtracking thing before purchasing hardware. FaceTrackNoIR is freeware, requires only a webcam (PS3 Eye for best results), and a human(?) face. Works great and smoothly once you dial your settings in.
