One of the things that annoys me about UK aircraft modelling is that they're all modelled on the ground.
If you tried to enter a competition with a model on a stand, you'd get laughed at.

Yeah I was a member of IPMS for a while. Every Tuesday night would turn up to the meetings and we'd discuss everything under the sun about what’s happening in the modelling world except on how to build great looking models.
Don't get me wrong they’re a great bunch of guys and wealth of info, but the meetings were too much about the decline of the brick's and mortar retailers, competition rules and how much someone had spent on after market detail kits. Very little was actually about building techniques and ideas.
To me it is an elitist club.
