Is wind modelled?

I don't have the game yet but just curious - I know the dynamic weather system seems to be on hold for the time being but is static wind modelled at this point?

If so, do you need to check the sock before takeoff or does ground advise you on t/o direction?

Same thing on rtb - does ground clear you for landing on appropriate r/way or do you need to inspect the windsock?

Is the wind effect noticable? Overall impression?

I read about tracer fire doing some strange things and in one reply it was said that this was due to wind hitting the broadside of the outgoing rounds, causing them to drift off more in the direction of windflow. Is this the case?
