I'd vote for the Bf-109 G-10 as, in sim mode, it is the fastest, most maneuverable and most stable of all the 109s to fly.
The lack of firepower is a resonable trade off for the performance advantage over its stablemates and has proven to be better on numerous occasions in sim mode. It makes smooth turns, doesn't spin and soaks up the damage. The lighter flight weight, mainly due to the lack of wing guns and considerably lighter VHF / UHF micro valve radio equipment makes for a better dive pull up as well. Only the G-10 and K-4 have the MW-50 power booster edge. On the downside, the G-10 does kick when dropping out of WEP and this can be annoying when lining up for a shot or making a tight turns. On a left turn the plane kicks wide and on a right turn it tries to roll over onto its back. Despite being aware of it, it still catches me out in the heat of a battle. In a straight line chase it'll catch a K-4 and Fw 190 D-9 in all modes. As for Spitfires, it is faster than the IX and able to give a XVI a good run for its money. The G-10 should be in the list. |
