Well, it all depends on the hero you play (warrior, paladin, mage), the items you find and the troops you are going to use. It is very hard to say which one is the best.
If you like using faeries, Agvares is the best. If you want max intellect, Elenhel is the best. If you use undead, Moron Dark is the best. If you use orcs, Moldok is the best. So... it is all up to you. Read the KBAP info thread and check their slots as well.
