Well If you look at the first pic again,
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...9&postcount=68 you can see to the right of the pilots cockpit is what was called the "Cole Hole". At the time it was thought that the radar operator had no need to have a forward view out of the plane. So the radar operators sat fully inside the plane with a small window to the side. This wasn't so popular though as 4 eyes are always better than 2 so no other 2 seater fighter plane has ever copied this.
