I had a similar problem with installing over a clean copy of 4.08m - a SecuRom error! It's been a long time since I saw one of those
 Even when I put in the disc it wouldn't work: told me I had the wrong disc and shut me down. To get around this, I asked a mate of mine who had a non-SR version with 4.09 installed to send me his il2fb.exe file, and that worked just fine. Also, I fixed up a mate of mine by getting him to substitute his new mg_snd and mg_snd_sse dll files for the originals in 4.08. He was having the same symptoms as you Zent, and has a similar rig also. B
