well for one i would recommend upgrading your video card. 2, there has been a lot of progess made, not sure if you were around for the last alpha patch, but hell i was getting 85-90fps on my 460. now its back down to about 20-30's, still overall pretty good, plays hell with my freetrack though. and it sounds like you have a router/firewall issue that is blocking the ports needed to play the game, or you do not have them forwarded correctly or dont have your universal plug and play option enabled on your router which automatically forwards ports for you. but I am proud to say for once no launcher crash on the initial hours of test playing the only bugs i encounterd was the tree issue everyone seems to have already posted as well as the huri/spit no start problem, and the decrease in frame rates, due to way way too many clouds. wish there was a way to disable them but just have to wait it out, overall good improvement, though i miss my 80fps

Yeah,the Hurricane is now porked!........just does'nt want to start,have been flying this since day one,never had these problems before.

Whilst I'm at it,there's still grass showing in the hangars,the Hurricane control column hydraulic lines still have a graphic bug in them,ie.there's a reflection of grass going through them.

But the biggest problem is that I suffered the most CTD's last night,and it would appear I'm not the only one suffering this either.

I'm an optimisic type of guy but I'm losing the losing faith with this,to be honest think I need to put this on the shelf to gather dust.

Aforementioned transparent fuel lines in most fighters at least. Can anyone else test their texture LODs? All you need to do is start off with the camera up high and quickly come down to ground level, observe what happens to the crispness of the textures. I'll have a video up demonstrating the issue soon, I just want to know if it's on my end or 1Cs.

mixed feelings about this one

Good things:

not really seeing frame rate issues while using nvidia 3.04.48
red square at start up seems to be gone

BAD things

launcher exe crashes whilst trying to select the 100 oct. fuel aircraft in the qmb
(this shouldn't happen at this stage, no butts about it.)
railroad visible across the channel (seen and mentioned before in here I believe)

It's really not a performance issue, something is broken. I know this because the first time I loaded in it was smooth, not to mention it was smooth when I could play it last year. It's not really 'lag', the entire thing just goes into a slideshow and disconnects.

I'll take your word for it on the progress, I just can't experience it myself. Thanks for the tips but I'm sure it's not a networking issue (at least not on my end), the game is 100% allowed through my firewall, which is the same as when I could play. I can connect to servers fine, I just can't create a plane without it turning into a slideshow and timing out.

Thanks for the tips though.

I did see this for the first time in the quick mission at low level against the Do17 here is a picture;

Bugs from me that ive noticed:

Hurri series wont start

Tree pop-ups. I took the advice of others and turned the tree's down, restart and turn them up again, but it only works for a short amount of time. Once i get to the point of maximum view from where i initially started the flight, the problem returns. Tree's thin out, and the popup tree's return. Its like the tree's arnt initially rendering, but its still rendering the LOD as if you were getting close to them. Biggest givaway, when this happens, fly low and pause the game. Jump out side and zoom out and in: Zoomed out, the tree is not able to be viewed... zoom in, and the LOD renders and pops up, you can see the leaves and shadows being rendered, but not the tree itself has still not rendered. ill b happy to lend a video of this if needed

Edit: Forgot to mention - The other day i got jumped by a 109, there was no sound of the aircraft being hit. The 1st i knew about it was being heavily wounded and getting the good old red vision damage on the right wing looked cool though

Transperent cables inside certain aircraft.

No, its not at your end, I'm seeing the same thing with textures stepping in at lower alts. I've got ctd's out of menus which I hve never had before (seems to be mainly when selecting aircraft) and beyond that what Meaker said.

Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it's a major issue!
