Did you have to touch up the propellors, cockpit glass and smoke/vapour by hand after compositing, or is there a way to do it automatically? With my limited knowledge of such things I just can't figure out how you managed to include those semi-transparent elements.

Thanks Nope it's all hand drawn - props, smoke, trails, antennae, shadows, damage etc.
