Botany course

When you go to the academy in the land of the elves you can do one of three courses and get a diploma at the end, one is for magic resistance, another for lizard studies and the last for botany.
I've done the first two but I was wondering what the last one is about, what do I get, what does it offer me and is it better than the other two since you need higher experience points to do this course.
Those that have done it, enlighten me.

I think it was +10 attack to all Ents, Thorns and Dryads. It was some time ago
