check out this scratches i did in this brand new polish tin with my nail after not getting much sleep :

oh im sorry i use it to exorcixe my demons

im expecting someone to say that tin is harder than a nail so a nail cant scratch tin

if i told this to a spichiatrist he would say it was a lie

the crux of the thread is you know is not a lie so i can trust your opinion

edit:

for example do you think i should think somehow my mind tricked me and i didnt actually have scratched that really with my nail?

tin is an extremely soft metal..one of the constituents of soft solder...
metal containers are not made from tin...but they may be made from tinplate.
this to prevent oxidisation of the underlying low grade steel...and being a thin layer of only several microns...

modern containers sometimes have a further layer of printed decoration added. using a process similar to magazine printing, but using a polymer film..
hardness measurement on ultra thin layers is problematical....jim

How do the scratches 'slow time'?

Anyway, you bit it in your sleep. Enamel (on your teeth) is one of the hardest substances found.

It must be fairly tough. Once I caught a Nor-West Blowfish and it bit through the shank of the hook I was using!
