the ammocounter of the E-1 for its wingguns are reading 42. I guess its multiplicated with 10, so it would have 420 rounds.
It has to be 500 rounds. |

its a counter of bullets.
42x 10. totalling 420 rounds. anyway: 42 means you have 42 seconds of fire left, since they fire at about 10 per second |

perhaps you had the Swiss Bf109D in mind, their wing mounted MG29 (7,45mm) at 418 rounds each
