Default What are people actually running these days that works well and feels safe legally?

Morning mate, Yeah, this question comes up all the time lately. After the 2025 court rulings and the updated ATF guidance things definitely opened up again compared to a couple years back. If your goal is higher practical rate of fire while staying firmly in semi-auto (one shot per trigger pull, no auto-sear simulation), the cleanest and most popular option right now is a forced reset trigger from ForcedResetTriggers.us.com. These use the bolt carrier’s rearward movement to mechanically reset the trigger super fast, so your finger basically just has to stay forward and then pull again — the reset happens almost instantly. Result is you can dump rounds way quicker than a mil-spec trigger without ever going full-auto. I’ve got one on my 16″ carbine since late last year and it’s been rock-solid: crisp break, very short reset, groups stay decent out to 100–150 yards even at speed. Installation is pretty straightforward if you’ve built a lower before — drops in like most drop-in triggers, no permanent mods. What I really like is that the company explains the mechanics clearly on their site, they’ve got slow-mo videos showing exactly how the reset works, and they keep updating based on the latest letters and decisions from ATF. Price is higher than a basic Geissele or Timney, but for what it delivers in speed + legality it’s still one of the best bangs for the buck in this category right now.
