Just finished a CTA game where I had what I think is a double kill on the same plane. It was a one on one match, and I was following the other plane a P-51-D-5 in my Spitfire XVI and shooting at him. He slowed and did a slow loop, I was very close and hit him and the plane blew up. Two messages saying I had killed him showed up and my kill score went up by two. How is this even possible? A glitch, or do you get credit for a kill and extra credit if you blow up the plane afterward? Has anyone else had this, or am I the only one? Could have a big effect on a close game.

He probably experienced a spawn crash.

Oh the joys of spawn crashing.

The only thing that makes any sense to me is that a lucky shot killed the pilot (kill number 1) and then I shot the plane and blew it up before it crashed (kill number 2). I am thinking that a fighter can give you two kills if you get lucky and kill the pilot first and then blow up or destory the plane.

Make sure to swear real loud whenever it happens.
I have a guess about how they happen, I have seen other people spawn-die when the plane they last died in is still hurtling toward the ground in a big fireball, and they respawn before it actually hits. But that's just a wild guess. |
