Strike Scoring..
This may, or may not have been addressed. If it has, I apologize in advance. But, before it hasn't really bothered me so much, but has become more and more bothersome to me. My favorite game play on line is CTA. But, I also like strike missions and play those when they are started. I noticed this from the start, but only recently started bugging me. Shouldn't a bomb hit you make, be scored to your credit? Apparently it is not this way. I fly a B-17 allot, and of course being in a B-17 I draw much of the enemy fighter attention as I am sure all the B-17 flyers have. Also, depending on the map, some targets are harder to destroy than others, taking more bomb hits to kill. I can not count how many bomb hits I have made, only to get shot down before enough hits to destroy the target. So, I respawn and take off, only to find that another team mate has dropped a single bomb that it took to finish my attack off. I do not have a problem with that person taking that shot, because it accounts for a kill for the team. BUT, my personal scoring shows NO contribution at all, and the single bomb drop from the mate that finished the target off, gets the entire point credit for that target kill. It has been wearing on me since day one, and now enough for me to whine a little about it. Some strike games, I look like a chump at the end looking at the scoring card, when I did allot of damage in the game, and others took the single lethal bomb drop to take the points. Is this going to be fixed? It should be any single bomb that makes a hit and does damage should get some of that score torwards the kill... is this a legitimate gripe? Or am I starting to take this too serious?

If playing with the right people they'll understand.
I wouldn't mind if that score was dropped all together---plane kills as well as targets taken out. Not like it makes much difference. All that matters is the ticket count and a win or loss for the team. Posting individual stats like that takes away from it being a "team" effort and it doesn't change the tickets. In fact, if I'm bombing the way I like to, I probably won't show any bunkers taken out until the end of the round. I don't like to reduce the number of targets right away, better to spread it out since you don't get extra points for destroying the bunker. By that time, a fighter with small bombs could probably take out the bunkers I've been steadily working over but left standing.

It really hasn't been an issue with the teams, and people I play with. At least I don't think it has... It is more of a personal thing. I am a huge team player, and like it that way. But, I also like to see my own personal stats to see where I need improvement.
But, like you, I tend to switch targets during a single run, spreading my fire out among several targets at once. I target one site, drop a couple bombs, as I pass it, switch to the next target, drop a couple bombs, and so on until I clear the area, then make my turn for a 2nd run. Assuming I make the turn for the second run, and sometimes I do, I will do the same. Sometimes this tactic, however is pretty damn effective for the overall turnout like you mentioned. But, if you make a couple runs using this technique and then get shot down, by the time you return with another load, someone has dropped in, dropped a couple bombs and scored huge for the kills. They look like a hero, even though they might not be all that skillfull. Their stats climb and yours does nothing, even though you may have contributed 90% of that score. Again, I don't have a huge ego as it is concerned with the others, but, it is more a personal acheivement thing with me, and I would like to see what I have contributed, so I can work on my own tactics and improvements. This is all I am saying when it comes to the strike scoring.. It should be fixed IMHO.. Quote:

I wonder if this will be in the update? For shooting down planes, I think they mentioned that doing the most damage to another plane will give the shooter a kill, even if that plane crashes, within a certain amount of time. (something like that)
Maybe with bombing the person doing the most bomb damage to the target will get the credit? That would be nice.

I will add though, even though I said I don't have much of an ego, but I guess I do have some of an ego, because when this started bugging me, was a couple weeks ago in a particular strike match. A single opponent whom will remain nameless, because I think he is a freaking punk self absorbed prick, I only thought that because of his reply to a friendly message I sent him. I have to admit, he is a very skilled air to air fighter. But, damn, what fighter with any mildly skilled pilot can't take down a lumbering B-17? He started targeting me specifically. I don't have a problem with that, that is the game, and in a strategic sense, makes sense to take out the heavy bomber. But, this guy was on me like white on rice. I got a few bombs off, and did some damage, but not near as much as I usually do, because of this guy keying on my bomber, and I think was his only mission was to track and keep me in flames. Anyway.. There were several on my team with fighters. I was trying to communicate to my team mates, to stay with me, and keep this prick busy so I can get some decent damage with my bombs. My teamates, whom I did not know any of them because my normal guys I fly with were not on line, simply just flew around. One guy in particular was WAY off course doing who knows what, because he wasn't even near ours, OR their targets.. Just off on his own, flying around enjoying the view I assume. I could not get any of my mates in fighters to work with me... I was on my own, and this jerk just simply took me out quickly. I did get a few bombs off, but not many.
Anyway.. I jokingly sent this guy a message after the match saying "Man, you were killing me. I might have had a chance if I had some back up from my team..".. Nothing personal to him, if anything, giving him props for good kills, and making a point that I would have liked to had some help from my guys.. Anyway, this bone head returns a message stating "You didn't get a single bomb off... You aren't very good... If you want to avoid embarrassment, do not come back..."... His reply was an ass hole comment IMHO, and not warranted.... I did get bombs off, and did "some" damage, but of course, my score card was zero because they were not complete kills.. So, I had no proof that he was wrong about my skills... Anyway.. I didn't reply back,because it is not worth it to get into a battle of witts with a freaking moron like that.. I just avoid him.. he shows up on my list when I place invites, but I always skip over the jerk and he doesn't get any invites to my games... hehheh.. Last edited by Tudorp15; 10-14-2009 at 05:43 PM.

A couple of my regulars whom are pretty good air to air fighters wanted him, but he wasn't seen on line for several days, and it just went by the wayside.. He has shown up in other matches that I was in, but again, I just ignore him... I he has not been in another strike match since with me however..
