For the Rare Animals quest, when you bring him the cyclops, the mage at the magic school in Greenwort says:
"I present you with 4000 gold to reward you for bringing us the creature. It's a lot of money, but it's worth it."
Any other cynically disposed players out there who noticed the cyclops cost 5000 gold, not to mention the troubles you had gone through to get there?
