No real best solution as I think all 3 options tend to give you different items. I'd say try it and decide but here are your options
a) Make a normal Driller, no boss fight, tends to be more runes and items.
b) Convince him not to make a Driller. Possibly more items (you get diff items).
c) Fight Driller. Possibly more exp, and diff items as well.
I went with fighting the Driller because... I wanted to have another Boss Fight on the record.
