in my country in the past 10 years the production of soybeans have increased exponentially. thanks to the "biotech" it become much more profitable than any other use of the land and it replaced cow, grains and all the "traditional" farming. for example the last 2 years we started importing meat, a thing that dont happen in the entire history of the country. great corporations now control great portions of the farming land , they were buying all the "small farmers" land the last years that was more common in the last century.
imo its a great advance of the cience but like any other thing in the world without control and with abuse is destructive..
OT; i found this short vid , i think its interesting when they try to explain the "mentality" of the """" elites"""" , nothing new but this time from the inside
