Happy birthday to the guy and thanks for all the years of fun.
I don't blame him for changing working environments and won't hold it against him because
a) he's provided me with hundreds of hours of very cheap fun
b) he built a legacy that's continued by the current team: stick to your guns and do things for the value of doing them and not only for money, even if it means occasionally biting off more than you can chew.
I also hope his family is ok, rumor has it (from sukhoi.ru some months ago) that one of the reasons he changed jobs was that he needed something that paid well for equal or less working time, because his son had to undergo heart surgery. Kind of put things in perspective i think, so many of us acting like jilted children at the news of him leaving when it could very well be his real kids that needed him forcing the decision on his part.
