Ooook, let's see....

1. Flight models - what the ?? They seem to be all over the place - over and underperformance abounds.
2. AI - In the history of dogfights, no one rolled 200 times to avoid bullets - this isn't Star Wars. They also didn't eventually stop trying to evade and just fly straight and level until shot down.
3. Shimmering shadows
4. awful sounds
5. broken radio comms
6. missions that have no explanation as to why you failed. I shot down 8 planes and landed safely, that seems like success to me. What, did I miss a waypoint or something?
7. laughable bullet stream - looks like something from the Sega Genesis days!
8. On and on
The original IL-2 blew me away right out of the box. People on the forums were screaming bloody murder about different aircraft balance and all kinds of goofy stuff, but for 50 bucks, it was hours and hours of entertainment regardless of the flaws.
It looks like this time, I layed out 50 bucks on the hope that they will one day make this a playable game. The five hours or so that I have already played it have been mostly frustrating and not fun and I won't fire it up again until the next patch. It truly does show a lot of promise and since I am such a fan of the old IL-2, I will hold on, but it sure is a shame the difference between now and then. The business model shouldn't be "give me your money and I'll give you an unplayable DVD..... but one day you will have a fun game."
I know I know, all you Beta guys have been pointing this stuff out for months - I just got the game so wanted to vent.

Well, like you said it's all known. If you want to find something fun to do, i suggest you look a bit under the hood, the good stuff that's functional lies a bit deeper than the sounds or graphics and flying a couple of QMB missions with varying aircraft types every now and then will help you experience them.
As for the closing lines of the post, well, you're a new "convert" so it's ok, but please don't make a habit of posting just to vent as it increases my moderating workload
Welcome aboard in any case and i hope you find the functional yet not immediately apparent features of the sim to your liking, because currently that's where most of the fun lies.

Not a very welcoming response to a newcomer to the community. He isn't trolling, he's just giving his version of the situation.
In other words, not all who find some fault with CoD are trolls: it's not so much what you say, but how your say it.
Next time i see such a one-liner personal attack i'll delete the post right-away. I'm going to extend you the courtesy to let you go back and edit it yourself this time. Thank you.

I'd be interested to hear if any of my numbered complaints are disagreed with and why for any reasons, but to tell me to be quiet, that is just idiotic childish behavior.
The IL-2 demo was unplayable? What about the purchased game? It ran smooth as silk out of the box.

It's not about keeping quiet, it's about maintaining the forum in a readable state.
That means having dedicated avenues for the most common issues in order to avoid repetitive haphazard posting on the main forum section.
There is a wealth of relevant threads in the sub-sections of this forum that argue exactly your points and in much greater detail, often with accompanying workarounds or propositions on how to fix certain things, not to mention the front-page stickies that contain a known bugs list and a FAQ.
They would be much more useful to you at this stage, both in helping to bring you up to speed and discussing each separate point in a bit more depth.
Finally, please don't take the bait. I make no distinction between the poster's opinion and message when moderating, only attitudes and lack of common courtesy (if it does manifest) factor into it. In other words, if you get successfully baited into a slagging match i have no choice but to move your posts along with the one who provoked you into it to the arguments megathread in the off-topic section.
