Doing a 'lap of Wales' on a Sunday was a common ride out. A few years ago, a new police chief there clamped down really hard on all things bike. A few old mates ended up banned for speeding and one with a 'dangerous driving' conviction. He was nabbed by a plain clothes car.
So we started doing the Cat and Fiddle, Devil's Bridge and Matlock runs, until another mate dropped his 'Blade on the Cat, broke 5 ribs and punctured a lung.
Luckily, I've never had a major spill, but I felt it was just a matter of time I suppose.
The other snag I have is that from where I live, it's a fair old journey on boring roads to get to any decent biker country in pretty much every direction.
So I should move house, forget about the other stuff and bite the bullet, I suppose.  |
