mine was up for almost 24 hours...then it crashed 5 times in 3 hours
I find that it happens when it loses touch with the mother ship (steam) this needs tobe sorted out post haste...i am pretty sure its not steams fault or they would have gone under along time ago with this kind of inconsistency.
What we really need is for there Tobe an initial handshake between steam and the server and then some passive polling to check status and players.
