In all fairnes, according to a google-translated post by Luthier on the Russian forums they are going to be getting the first optimization patch out the door and then adding flyable aircraft in subsequent ones.

I can't really know what's inside their minds and what they have signed with their publishers, but they did state various times (even recently) that they prefer not to do individual DLC packs.

So, this will probably go much like the original IL-2, a couple of free aircraft here and there in a patch (obviously not as much or as often as in IL2, due to the extra workload involved but still, it's free stuff) and complete expansions on sale.

I can't say i blame them, i like this method very much. Even if i fly less than half of the planes i paid for over the years, if i'm on a server and it runs a mission with unusual or exotic planesets i have everything installed and can jump in and fly, instead of having to wait for the next mission or rush to buy and download them in DLC form.

If i was to speculate, i'd say that the Su-26 and the autogyro were mostly done but not completely finalized and that's probably why they are not included in the installation disc, maybe we'll see them in an upcoming patch.

As for the Do-17, it's not flyable. I can't really complain with such a good, representative planeset we're getting even though i agree it would be nice to have the Do-17 as well at some point in the future. I think the biggest problem was lack of references, but don't quote me on that as i'm going strictly by memory on this one.
