This issue is purely cosmetic as far as I can tell, but it's happened to me twice now so I thought I'd post it.
When a witch hunter dies, sometimes the corpse may behave oddly. The first time it happened the corpse simply appeared in the standing position (without any animation.)
The second time it occurred (after diplomatic negotiations with a fire dragon soured) the witch hunter decided to dig a three foot deep hole for his grave.
Running the Steam version of Crossworlds (even though Steam insists that it's named Crossworld).
