Just found this vid on youtube, real time smoke calculation done by the GPU:

If such a thing could be introduced in SOW (as an option), but optimised and with a reduced quality so as not to kill the framerate, it would be really cool (however, I don't think it's capable of creating vortices, as there's probably no 'air')
