It must be Windows 7 man. Or maybe your card needs more memory. I have 512mb. Maybe that makes the difference.
I have Radeon 2600XT 512mb. Intel core 2 duo 2.66ghz processor. 3.5 GB ram. Windows XP Sp3.

I never had it freeze for a second. I even run a few other programs in the background. I also have a pretty good corsair power supply, but I don't think that impacts anything much.
